2 soldiers, 22 others arrested during cultist meetings in Ogun State

The Ogun State Police Command has successfully apprehended a suspected armed cultist during a midnight raid conducted at Hillton Hotel, Osiele, under the jurisdiction of Odeda Division.
Following credible intelligence, a coordinated operation involving operatives from the Odeda Division, Aregbe Division, the Anti-Cultism Unit, and SWAT was executed, led by SP Adejoh Israel. The operation commenced at approximately 2020 hours on 25th July 2025, targeting suspected members of the Aiye confraternity gathered at the aforementioned hotel.
During the operation, a total of twenty-two (22) suspects were arrested, including two (2) soldiers, nineteen (19) male suspects, and three (3) females. Additionally, law enforcement recovered one cut-to-size locally made gun, one UTC axe, and several blue beret caps associated with the cult group.
All arrested individuals have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Anti-Cultism Unit, Eleweran, for further investigation. Notably, no casualties were reported during this operation.
