Ketu Youth Association Leaders Holds Strategic Meeting With All Ketu Baales to Strengthen Unity and Community Development

In a significant step toward enhancing unity and accelerating socio-economic development across Yewa Land, the President of the Yewa Youth Association, Comrade Isikalu Olanrewaju Alamu, led the Ketu Youth Association (KYA) leaders to meet with all Baales in Ketu Land on Tuesday. The meeting, held at Ebute-Igbooro, at Chief Abidemi Akorede’s House, was a historic strategic gathering.

The high-level engagement, held in an atmosphere of mutual respect and collaboration, brought together traditional leaders and youth representatives to chart a clear path toward peace, youth empowerment, cultural preservation, and grassroots development.

Speaking during the session, Comrade Isikalu emphasized the central role of unity between traditional institutions and the youth in achieving sustainable progress. He noted that Yewa Land stands at a critical point where synergy, consultation, and shared vision are essential for growth.

“Our mission is simple but highly significant—to build a stronger, united, and forward-thinking Ketu Land where every youth can thrive and every community can develop,” Comrade Isikalu stated. “This meeting marks the beginning of deeper collaboration between our royal fathers and the youth constituency across Ketu communities.”

Some Baales asked what could qualify or disqualify youth from the Ketu Youth Association (KYA).

Comrade Akapo Timothy, interim Chairman of the Association, made it clear that “Ketu Youth Association will not allow any youth who is disturbing the peace of the community or anyone who does not fully respect the rules and regulations of their communities, the state, and Nigerian law to join the Association.”

Comr. Akapo also informed them that each Baale must have a representative from their community in the Association.

The Baales, in their various remarks, commended the initiative and expressed optimism for renewed development across Ketu Land.

Baale Orile Igbooro, Chief Abidemi Akorede, praised the leadership of the Yewa Youth Association for taking such a timely and strategic step. He described the engagement as a move that will “rewrite the history of Ketu Land” and strengthen bonds among communities.

The meeting featured discussions on security, youth engagement, cultural heritage, economic opportunities, and improved relationships between community leaders and the youth population. The Baales pledged their full support for future initiatives aimed at uplifting Ketu Land and Yewa Land at large.

The leadership of the Ketu Youth Association reaffirmed their commitment to continuous dialogue, inclusive development, and collaborative action with all stakeholders.
