The Ogun State Community Social Orientation and Safety Corps, So-Safe Corps, has arrested three suspects for grave robbery and ritual.
This is contained in a statement by the Commander of Corps, (Dr.) Soji Ganzallo and released to the public by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Assistant Commander Adegunwa Adegbuyi.
Ganzallo stated that, at about 9am on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, during a joint routine patrol, the team of Anti-Arms Smuggling and Ipokia Area Command led by ACC Abdulkareem Abdulrazak and ACC Aliyu Yusuf respectively, received an intelligence report of some people in possession of human skull at Isale Odo, Ibatefin, Ipokia, Ogun State.
The Commander said, without further ado, the team advanced to the said address. At the scene, the all male suspects; Alabi Taiwo, Kasimu Amuda and Adisa Joshua were seen in possession of human skull, white clothes and cross that was screwed to a casket.
In the course of preliminary investigation, Alabi Taiwo confessed to have dug the grave of a woman corpse (name withheld) buried close to his house at Ibatefin since July 28, 2025 at the wee hours of the day. He further disclosed that he took the cranium to Adisa Joshua who happened to be the herbalist with the intention of selling it to the third suspect, Kasimu Amuda who admitted that they’ve been in this criminal transaction for a while before the law caught up with them. Furthermore, he said he always buy it at an agreed sum of Fifty Thousand Naira (#50,000.00). Also, he mentioned one Hamed, a resident of Badagry, Lagos State, who is at large, to be among their co-conspirator.
Ganzallo said the suspects and exhibits has been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Idiroko Area Command for further investigation and likely prosecution.
Finally, Ganzallo, while commending the officers for the prompt response, appreciated the community for the trust they have in the Corps. He promised that the Corps will make use of everything in its arsenal to make sure the state is free of crime and its vices.
