SO-SAFE CORPS APPREHENDS ESCAPED GOAT THIEF

The Ogun State Community Social Orientation and Safety Corps, codenamed So-Safe Corps, has arrested a 27 years old male suspect, Emmanuel Awahnse
Through the press statement by the State Commander, (Dr.) Soji Ganzallo and released by the Director of Information and Public Relations, ACC Adegunwa Adegbuyi
Ganzallo stated that on February 6, 2026 officers of the Corps attached too Ifonyintedo Division led by the Divisional Officer, CSC Adeisa Zacheous, while on routine patrol, sighted the suspect and an accomplice about 5am on a motorcycle on transit with black bag containing an unidentified items along Madoga, Ita-Ege road.
In his explanation, (Dr.) Ganzallo said, realizing the they have been sighted, the suspects accelerated for escape and the team of officers pursued them. “They escaped leaving behind the bag and motorcycle” he said. On searching the contents of the bag, it was realized that it contained three goats.
Afterwards, the Area Commander, Ipokia Area Command, ACC Aliu Yusuf, directed the Divisional Officer to be on high alert for the suspects at large. Consequently, a surveillance team was set up for their arrest.
Subsequently, on February 19 at about 1:30pm, Emmanuel Awahnse a.k.a Ariwo Oja, a native of Odoforo in Ipokia Local Government was nabbed at a church while celebrating the naming ceremony of his child.
In the course of preliminary interrogation, the suspect admitted to the crime. He confessed that they stole the goats at Ifonyintedo and gave the name of his accomplice as Ketonsu, a.k.a Ijagun.
Ganzallo noted that, the suspect and recovered exhibits has been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Idiroko Division for further investigation and likely prosecution
